" Called to be Saints" are a West Gallery Choir and band based in the Bristol area.  They visited Salem on 12th July at the end of a tour round several churches in the area and sang enthusiastically hymns and anthems in the distinctive "West Gallery" style which was very popular in the 18th and early 19th centuries.  The choir was well supported by a band consisting of flutes, clarinets, a bassoon, a violin and an accordian, and the occasion was much appreciated by those present.  As a result of the visit £80 was raised for our church charity, which this year is St Peter's Hospice.
